Nike and Adidas' football advertisements has always been very entertaining to watch, fans, footballers and even people who normally doesn't care about football enjoy watching these short endorsements. Advertisers have also influenced new supporters of the sport simply through inspiring short films with players playing beautiful plays only wearing outfits branded with their names.

Football clubs, national teams and their players has always been influential to most of the people, in some way. Advertisers doesn't even have to post expensive ads on billboards, tv commercials, etc. to sell their product, for example the case of Adidas' newly discovered ball technology called the 'TeamGeist', it was introduced to the football world during the 2006 FIFA World Cup held last August, they only have to provide Adidas sponsored teams footballs for their training sessions and take a picture of the ball with the team using it, that's it, simply as that and football fans around the world want a ball just like that.

Sadly for me, football is still not that popular enough here in the Philippines to attract investors to sell their high quality products here though there are many filipino football fans. I can hardly watch football advertisements showing great football on philippine tv And just like what happened to the screening of the movie 'Goal!2', i heard that they wont show it here because its prequel didn't earn that much. I just hope that advertising isn't always about the money, it should be about reaching the people, showing appropriate content, not creating bad publicity to earn big or whatever.
